Summary: The Capital Facilities Element is a dense document filled with detailed analysis of levels of service and capital investment projections. While necessary under state law, the Element is cumbersome and not user friendly.

BACKGROUND

The Economic Vitality Element was included as part of Issaquah’s first GMA consistent Comprehensive Plan, adopted in April, 1995. The State did not require an economic element at that time, however Issaquah felt strongly that economic vitality was a large piece of the community’s quality of life. This element’s most recent update was 2007. An Economic Development Element is now required by GMA.

Prior to this meeting, PPC reviewed and made edits to the proposed Land Use goals and then the Land Use Policies. This is PPC’s final review of the Land Use Element until the November 13, 2014 public hearing.
