Street Standards - Landscaping Update AB 9099

10 stops across 4 bodies · Oct 23, 2024 → Mar 30, 2026

Summary

Updates Issaquah's road landscaping standards to allow more flexibility around critical areas (streams, wetlands), with new rules that favor extending the life of existing infrastructure over reconstruction and add tree-preservation requirements. Originated as a 2024 Mobility & Infrastructure Committee discussion, went through Transportation Advisory Board review in late 2024 and early 2025, M&I committee work on the proposed ordinances in February 2025, and a Planning Policy Commission public hearing in November 2025. City Council adopted the final ordinance on March 30, 2026.
